Mohamed Assoweh

Mohamed Assoweh Bouh is a veteran telecommunications leader with more than 30 years of experience driving national connectivity, digital transformation and large-scale network modernisation in Djibouti. With academic foundations in optical telecommunications and digital image processing, he began his career leading critical transmission and Internet-gateway initiatives that laid the groundwork for Djibouti’s early digital infrastructure. His contributions span IP network development, cellular network deployment and the technical and financial planning that shaped the country’s first modern mobile services.Since 2014, he has served as Director General of Djibouti Telecom, where he continues to guide the operator through strategic expansion, modernisation and the rollout of advanced broadband and ICT solutions. Known for his technical rigor and long-term vision, he has played a central role in strengthening Djibouti’s position as a regional telecommunications hub while driving national digital development and operational transformation within the organisation.
